Plácido Domingo csütörtökön visszatért Európába, hogy átvegye az életműdíját az Salzburgi Operaházban. Ez volt a világhírű tenor első nyilvános szereplése, mióta márciusban legyőzte a koronavírust Mexikóban, Acapulcóban.
Korábban egy olasz újságnak adott interjúban Domingo azt ígérte, hogy tovább küzd ezért, hogy tisztázza nevét a szexuális zaklatás vádjaival szemben, amelyek gyakorlatilag véget vetettek a karrierjének mind az Egyesült Államokban, mind szülőhazájában, Spanyolországban.

Plácido Domingo returned to Europe on Thursday to receive his Lifetime Achievement Award at the Salzburg Opera House. It was the world-famous tenor’s first public appearance since he defeated the coronavirus in Acapulco, Mexico in March.
Earlier, in an interview with an Italian newspaper, Domingo promised to continue fighting for it to clarify his name against allegations of sexual harassment that had virtually ended his career in both the United States and his native Spain.
“I am touched. It is a real honor for me to be here and see the first rays of hope and happiness after I have struggled and survived the coronavirus, ”the world class said.
The singer filed a complaint against 10 women who said Domingo treated them in an unauthorized manner between 1986 and 2019, when the world star was the director of the Los Angeles Opera House. The institution has launched an investigation which has found the allegations of harassment to be credible, however, there is no evidence that the singer has ever abused his power.
Plácido Domingo began his career 51 years ago.
Over the course of his career spanning more than five decades, he boasts more than 150 stage roles, 11 Grammy Awards and genre-creating concerts as a member of "Three Tenors."
